What should I do when my garage door breaks?
- Stop using the door. Don’t press the button again and don’t force it by hand.
- Unplug the opener so nobody runs it by accident.
- Keep kids, pets and cars clear of the door, especially if it’s crooked or partly open.

What should I check after a storm or power outage?
Before you call, check two things that solve a lot of “emergencies” during an outage:
- With the power out and the springs intact, the red emergency-release cord lets you lift the door by hand. Only pull it with the door closed.
- When power returns, check the breaker and the GFCI outlet in the garage before assuming the opener is dead.
Most emergencies here come in clusters: a summer thunderstorm knocks out power and openers, or a tropical system brings wind that pushes doors off their tracks. After a storm we quote in writing the same way as any other day, and we triage by urgency.
A new opener with battery backup keeps the door working through the next outage.

No, and we won't pretend to be. Our hours are Mon-Sat 7 am-8 pm. Sundays, holidays and after 8 pm, we take urgent jobs when a technician is available: call or WhatsApp to check. If you write after hours, we reply with the earliest time we can come and a written quote.
My car is stuck in the garage. What should I do?
First, look at the springs above the door. If a spring is broken, don't try to lift the door or use the opener; send us a photo and we come as fast as we can. If the springs are intact and only the opener failed, pull the red emergency-release cord with the door fully closed, and lift the door by hand. If it feels very heavy, stop and call us.
My door is stuck open and the house isn't secure. Can you come now?
Tell us that when you call or write, and you go first in line. While you wait, unplug the opener, keep people away from the door, and don't try to force it down. If the door can't be closed safely, lock the door between the garage and the house.
How do you handle garage door repairs after a hurricane?
After a storm we quote in writing the same way we always do. We triage by urgency, starting with doors stuck open and cars trapped inside, and we tell you an honest arrival window.
