What should I do if my garage door comes off its track?
Stop using the door, unplug the opener, don’t force it, and keep kids, pets and cars away, because a door partly out of its track can fall. Never try to pull it back into its track while the springs are wound: the tension is high and the door can drop. Then send us a photo of the whole door.
How can I tell if my garage door is off track?
- One side is higher than the other, or the door is twisted in the opening.
- You can see rollers outside the track, or a gap between a roller and the track.
- The door is stuck halfway and the opener strains or stops.
- The track is bent or pulled away from the wall after the door was hit.
How to get a quote

Why do garage doors come off track in Miami?
Wind, rust and tight driveways are the usual causes here:
- Wind. In a tropical storm or a strong summer squall, a door that isn’t braced can flex enough for rollers to pop out of the track. If yours came off after a storm, check the panels for dents too, and read about hurricane bracing before the next one.
